So the football season is upon us again and this weekend will see the start of the Bundesliga. The reigning Bundesliga and European Champions Bayern Munich, along with new manager Pep Guardiola, will start their title defence at home to Mochengladbach, one of the few teams to trouble and take points of Bayern last season, holding Bayern to a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern have had a good pre season although losing the German Super Cup to Dortmund 4-2, they have managed to beat Sao Paulo 2-0 and Manchester City 2-1 after going a goal behind. Last week they played lower division side Schwarz-Weiss Rehden, easily accounting for them 5-0 with a hatrick to Thomas Muller. The good news this week, although new signing Mario Gotze is still recovering from injury is that Bastian Schweinsteiger returns to the line up

Borrusia Mochengladbach, who finished 8th last season and played in the Europa League will find it difficult this season after having only brought in one additional player to their line up in Max Kruse (11 goals, 8 assists last season) from SC Freiburg. Last week Mochengladbach went out of the DFB Cup, shockingly going out of the competition to 3rd Division team Darmstadt 98, 5-4.

Key Stats –

Bayern have won 16 of their last 17 matches in the Bundesliga.

Bayern have scored at least 3 goals in 6 of their last 7 home matches in the Bundesliga

Bayern have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 home matches in the Bundesliga.

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Bayern’s last 7 home games in the Bundesliga.

Borussia M.Gladbach have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 4 away matches in the Bundesliga.

Bayern have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 3 home matches against Borussia Mochengladbach in all competitions

Bayern are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 home matches against Borussia Mochengladbach in all competitions.

Prediction

Bayern to be too powerful and i expect them to win comfortably. 1st rounds can be tricky, but Bayern should do the job and win, and i expect them to score a few goals

Ill stick with my 1st thought of +2.5 total goals, or for the scoreline punters i dont mind 3-1 or 2-1

Has been a couple of ordinary weeks, confident we can turn that around starting tonight. We missed by one goal on landing our Friday Dutch Goal Bonanza last night, and have one leg of our 4 fold multi up

This weeks tip comes in the Belgium Jupiler League with 7th place Mechelen at home to Oud- Hervelee. Mechelen come into this match in good form, winning 6 of their last 7, opposed to Oud-Hervelee with just one win and a draw in their last 6, 4 of those losses have been away from home, conceding at least 2 goals in each of those 4 losses away. Normally a fe goals are traded between these sides when they meet seeing over 2.5 goals scored in their last 6 meetings. Im going a Mechelen win @ $1.90, if you like the 2.5+ shop around as im sure you will get something like $1.70 which i probably take as well.

Im also super keen on Bayern v Werder Bremen win/win ht/ft @$1.53

Football Tips 9/2/13.

Heaps of tips this weekend, so lets jump straight into it. 1st up –

Borussia Mochengaldbach v Bayer Leverkusen

Both teams come off a defeat following some very good form. Bayer Leverkusen lost their first game of the season at home to Borussia Dortmund after a spirited comeback to lose 3-2. Gladbach lost to Nurnburg 2-1 away from home but they have been pretty dominant at home in recent weeks after 3 wins at home on the bounce, in fact thei home record is one of the best in the League, undefeated in 26 of their last 29. Both teams have quite good attack (Mochengladbach 28 For, Leverkusen 38 For) but are also somewhat leaky at the back (Mochengladbach 29 Against , Leverkusen 26 Against), so im expecting some goals in this one. This may sound ridiculous but over 1.5 goals is $1.30!! over 2.5 $1.92

Monchengladbach have not failed to score at home this season while Bayer Leverkusen go from strength to strength and sit third in the league. Leverkusen have only failed to score twice this season away from home and once was a Freiburg.

Both to score would have paid out in 5 of both teams last 8 games and all 5 of their last meetings together. I see the best value in this market with either team capable of victory. There are stats that favor either side in this match but i cant make a decision, id rather take the 1.5/2.5 goals

Other games ill be dabbling into over the weekend are –

Dortmund to win
Ajax to win
Cliftonville/Bayern Munich both to win 1st half
Heracles v Willem II/Vitesse v PSV both games over 2.5 goals Double
PSV to win
Club Brugge into St Truiden both to win
West Sydney to win

Too many games to do a preview but im confident we can land a few

Football tips 1/2/13.

A couple of real good matches coming up this weekend all over Europe and Australia. With the Melbourne Derby taking place, I always love this match and never miss it. Also on the menu is City v Liverpool, Leverkusen v Dortmund.

Anyway, lets get into it, been on a good run of late and hope to continue that this weekend

1st up PSV v ADO Den Haag

PSV is with Barcelona the most scoring team in europe. The play now against ADO and i see now problem for PSV to win this game. So PSV to win is a good bet but too shoet at $1.18 unless you want to use it in a multi. But its the stats that do the talking in this one for me, i like over 2.5 goals

  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in PSV Eindhoven’s last 13 home games in Eredivisie.
  • PSV Eindhoven have won 16 of their last 18 matches against ADO Den Haag in all competitions. And quite convincingly 6-1, 5-0, 3-0, 1-0 (last 4 matches)
  • PSV Eindhoven have scored at least 2 goals in 17 of their last 18 matches against ADO Den Haag in all competitions.
  • PSV Eindhoven have been winning at both half time and full time in 6 of their last 8 home matches against ADO Den Haag in all competitions.

Next up is a riskier than normal, and i reckon we might be riding this one out right to the end. Werder Bremen V Hannover 96.

Werder Bremen, currently sitting in 12th, will welcome Hannover 96 as a slim favourite in this match. Despite that they have been playing not so well this season (6-4-9 record/ 4-2-3 at home), still their target is to get to the Europa League. Werder will search only for the win, especially as this game is a north-derby.

On the other hand Hannover, 10th at the moment, is a slim underdog. So far they have been playing not so good football as well very inconsistent, especially on the road (1-3-5 record).

A small difference quality wise between both clubs, and Werder will more than likely see the return of Dutch international Eliah, where as Hannover are struggling with injuries and suspensions. I expect Werder to win this hard fought match. It will be a tough task, yet odd at 2.10 is good enough for a wager. Buckle in for this one! Again 2.5 goals would be a sensible bet, and ill probably save on that

  • Werder Bremen have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches against Hannover 96 in all competitions.
  • Werder Bremen have seen over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches against Hannover 96 in all competitions.
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Werder Bremen’s last 6 home games in the Bundesliga.
  • Werder Bremen are undefeated in their last 9 home matches against Hannover 96 in all competitions.
  • Hannover 96 have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 6 away matches in the Bundesliga.
  • Hannover 96 have been losing at both half time and full time in 5 of their last 7 away matches in the Bundesliga.
  • Hannover 96 have lost 7 of their last 8 away matches in the Bundesliga.
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Hannover 96’s last 6 away games in the Bundesliga.

Last up, dont normally bet on A League but i think Newcastle are specials v Sydney and the $2.10 looks tasty enough for me, especially as Sydney have 5 out due to injuries.Jets currently have 22 points after 18 matches (win 6, draw 4, lose 8) and are standing at 4th position in the table. Their attack is acceptable as they scored 21 goals in 18 matches with 7 goals in their home matches. They scored average 1.17 goals per match and are the 6th best attacking team in the league. Also their defense is fine as they have 29 conceded goals in 18 matches with 10 conceded goals in their home matches (average 1.61 conceded goals per match ).

Sydney FC currently have 20 points after 18 matches (win 6, draw 2, lose 10) and are standing at 6th position in the table. Their attack is fine as they scored 28 goals in 18 matches with 11 goals in their away matches. They scored average 1.56 goals per match and are the third best attacking team in the league. Also their defense is okay as they have 37 conceded goals in 18 matches with 24 conceded goals in their away matches (average 2.06 conceded goals per match ).

Back from the winter break last week for both the Eredivisie and Bundesliga. Both my two favourite sides producing very fine performances. Dortmund winning 5-0 away to Bremen and Ajax also winning 3-0 over Feyenoord and really were never in trouble. im really glad i took the $4.00 that was on offer before Christmas as they are flying and have one of the best 2nd half of the season records in recent times.  Last season appeared spectacular as they made up so much ground, overtaking five clubs along the way, but it was the 2009/2010 season which was the best last 16 matches by any Eredivisie club since three points for a win was introduced in the 1995/1996 season. Three years ago, Ajax took 46 of the last 48 possible points but this was not enough as they lost out on the title by one point.Looking at their two most recent title winning seasons, Ajax improved on results against their last 16 opponents on each occasion.  Ajax took 37 points from these 16 matches in 2011/2012. They won 11 of those matches and have five in which they can improve this term, starting with Feyenoord last weekend, a match which was drawn a season ago. That match is the only one remaining at the Arena which they didn’t win last time around. Ajax still have to visit Vitesse, PSV and Twente, venues at which Ajax took seven out of nine points last season so there is little room for error. Ajax have averaged 34 points from their last 16 matches over the last 17 seasons but repeating that is unlikely to be enough this time around. They are likely to again require at least 37 points which is something they have managed to achieve in eight of those 17 seasons including each of the last three. But and upset loss to PSV last weekend has seen the gap closed to just one point!

Couple of games i like this weekend, starting off with Dortmund v Nurenburg.

The win by Dortmund last week really was spectacular. They played away to Werder Bremen and for about 10 minutes it seemed that we were going to be in for a tough game for Dortmund. It all changed when they scored the first goal in a set piece. That moment set the game. Dortmund managed to control the game and, not only won, but convincingly beat a strong Werder Bremen on their own stadium by 5 goals to nil. It surely had to give a boost to team’s morale and it wasn’t even necessary to require Nuri Sahin’s services. He is likely to play in this game and they will surely get another easy victory home to Nurnberg who got a bore draw home to Hamburg and are struggling in at the wrong end of the table.

Match Stats/Facts

  • Borussia Dortmund are undefeated in 35 of their last 38 matches in the Bundesliga.
  • Borussia Dortmund have kept a clean sheet in their last 5 home matches against Nurnberg in all competitions.
  • Borussia Dortmund are undefeated in 18 of their last 20 matches against Nurnberg in all competitions.
  • There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Nurnberg’s last 7 games in the Bundesliga.
  • Borussia Dortmund have seen under 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches against Nurnberg in all competitions.
  • There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Borussia Dortmund’s last 3 games in the Bundesliga.
  • Nurnberg have failed to win their last 7 away matches in the Bundesliga.
  • Borussia Dortmund have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches in the Bundesliga.
  • Borussia Dortmund have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 home matches against Nurnberg in all competitions

Suggested Bet: Like the over 2.5 goals, tempted by a 3-1 scoreline

Inter Milan v Genoa.

Ill take a quick look at tonight’s match between Inter Milan v Genoa

I don’t particularly like betting on Italian football as it been proven time and time again to be fixed!

Anyway, This match will be played in Giuseppe Meazza Stadium of Milano (hope i got the right) where the home team Inter have an outstanding record v Genoa and in my opinion being at home is going to be a huge advantage for Inter as they’ll be wanting to put in a good performance and to secure a 3 points in front of their supporters.

Genoa is sitting in 19th position of Serie A with just 12 points from 16 matches. This team is not doing anything this season and already occupy a spot in the relegation zone and at the moment have lost eight from their last ten matches.

Inter sits in 2nd position with 34 points from 17 matches, and is just four points behind Juventus who is leading with 38 points.

In my opinion Inter will give everything to secure a win at home so ill take Inter @ $1.40 head to head, and take a look with at a handicap -1.0 @ $1.55

  • Inter have won their last 6 matches v Genoa in all competitions
  • Genoa have failed to win 18 of their last 20 away matches
  • Inter have won 5 of their last 6 home matches in Serie A
  • Inter have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 4 games v Genoa at home in all competitions
  • Inter have scored at least 2 goals in their last 5 of 6 games at home

Heading into to the busy Xmas period where the Bundesliga unfortunately closes down, but i still think we can find some winners to make Xmas just that little bit sweeter. Most betting i normally do on football is in Holland or Germany, but this week i think we can link up a few and get a multi happening.

First up we will have a look at Manchester City v Reading

City doesn’t have many fond memories from their games against The Royals over the last couple of years, City have only two victories and three defeats in five games against Reading FC, including two victories and one defeat in three games at home. But many things have changed since the last meeting between these two teams in March, 2011.Under Roberto Mancini and a bucket load of cash, Manchester Cities are gradually becoming one of the more dominant clubs in English football, as The Sky Blues won the title in Premiership last season, as well as F.A.Cup in 2011 and F.A. Community Shield in 2012.They are one of the two teams with the best chances to win the title this season, as Mancini’s team sits on 2nd position in the standings (10-6-1 33-15 / 6-2-1 21-9 at “Etihad Stadium” until this moment), only six points behind Manchester United. In fact, The Citizens had some difficult moments in their last two games at this home, as they took only one point against Everton in the beginning of the month (Manchester City – Everton FC 1-1 on 01/12/12), before losing 2-3 against Manchester United (Manchester City – Manchester United 2-3 on 09/12/12).However, I think these were only temporary problems for the home team and The Sky Blues proved this with good football for a 3-1 victory against Newcastle United last Saturday (Newcastle United – Manchester City 1-3 on 15.12.2012).Six points are actually not a big difference for a league like Premiership, but the hosts can’t afford to make mistake in this game, especially against the last team in the standings.Micah Richards and Jack Rodwell will miss the game, but each of the other four players, who complain of injuries (Vincent Kompany, Aleksandar Kolarov, James Milner and Samir Nasri), could be fit on time for this clash. The Royals, on the other hand, suffered a heavy defeat in their last game against Arsenal on Monday ( 2-5 on 17/12/12), which was the sixth consecutive defeat for Brian McDermott’s team over the last four weeks (0-0-6 7-17).As a result, the visitors are now on the last spot in Premiership, with only one victory and ten defeats after seventeen rounds (1-6-10 21-26 / 0-2-7 7-17 away from home in this period). In fact, The Royals showed good football in some of those six games, but their performances in the last two games were a sign, that the players gradually lose faith in their capabilities. Etihad Stadium  is a difficult place to earn points under these circumstances, especially when three important players are still not ready to play against such strong opponent – Sean Morrison, Jem Karacan and Jason Roberts. In my opinion, The Citizens will manage to win all three points from this clash and will keep the distance between them and The Red Devils before the upcoming tough schedule at the end of December. Odds of around $1.25 were available earlier in the week, but has shortened up a little too much (use them in a multi), like the over 2.5 goals @ $1.35

  • Reading have lost their last 6 matches in the Premier League
  • City are undefeated in 22 of their last 23 matches in the Premier League
  • Reading have failed to score in their last 3 away games
  • Reading have leaked 17 goals in their last 6 matches, conceding over 2.5 goals in 4 of those matches

Atletico Madrid v Celta Vigo

This is a no brainer for me. Yes Atletico were beaten 4-1 by Barcelona last week. That loss has now seen them  slip nine points behind Barcelona.  Atletico Madrid is the 2nd now in the league and they’re doing good. They only have 3 lost matches (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia) 1 draw (Levante) and 12 wins. So they have lost only against bigger teams. At home Atletico is perfect 8 matches 8 wins with 17 goals for and 6 against. Also they have a certain goal scoring machine also known as Falcao (7 goals in 5 last matches).

Celta Vigo is 15th in the league. They have one of the worst away records with 1 win and 7 losses in 8 games 7:15 on theese matches. I can’t see how could Atletico not to win this easily. I predict they put in quite a bit of a performance and win 3 or 4 goals to nil.

  • Atletico Madrid have won their last 9 home matches in La Liga. Head to Head $1.30 take that!
  • Atletico Madrid have scored at least 2 goals in their last 9 home matches in La Liga. over 2.5 goals @ $1.60 thats amazing value
  • Atletico Madrid have been winning at both half time and full time in 7 of their last 8 home matches in La Liga. HT/FT @ $1.75
  • Celta Vigo have lost 7 of their last 8 away matches in La Liga.

Atletico have been amazing at home this season (13 wins from 13 in all competitions) I cant believe they are betting $1.30 head to head and $1.60 for 2.5 goals or more

Best Bet will come shortly, id suggest linking these matches either together, and or with my best bet
